March 2023 - August 2023

Lead Designer, Define strategy, Wireframing, Prototyping, User Interview, User-Testing, UX QA

Increase of 34% of Monthly Active Users, + 28% increase in registered users, r
eleased to all US and Canadian users.

A new widget experience that will prevent out of stocks and keep on-shelf availability high. Users will be able to easily review their SKU Unit order forecast to find the forecasted order quantities they should plan to produce. When suppliers know their forecast they can focus on producing enough goods to avoid THD fill rate penalty.

PROBLEM
Are we producing enough products to fill future orders?

Suppliers have difficulty interpreting the current data so our solution needs to provide a single reporting source allowing them to combine multiple reports and tell the full story. Some suppliers who don't receive the SUOF report have very limited visibility into forecasting reporting.

RESEARCH
How do we help suppliers avoid poor fill rates and meet in stock expectations?

Weekly workshops were run with stakeholders from Supplier Engagement, Business Analysts, and Data Science to align on key objectives we wanted to focus on with this new experience widget. We held 24 user interviews with suppliers to get to the root of the problem.

NEXT UP
Area of Improvements

Accuracy in Forecast
Low fill rates are not accounted for in SUOF and will cause the reporting to be inaccurate. THD will order more product than SUOF told the suppliers. If users are unable to demonstrate low fill rates, it may impact the relationship between suppliers & IPR to adjust any spike orders or address the forecast. How do we call out differences?

Alerting Users
How do we alert users in real-time of low fill rates since forecast cannot take into account short shipments. Feedback tells us that users are always seeking inventory opportunities to anticipate high & low spikes. We want to incorporate alert access through forecast widget - let Fusion do it for you!

Additional Enchancements
Users may want to share updates about production and forecast with cross functional teams (internal and THD). In addition, most suppliers have their own internal forecasting tools/teams, how do we integrate their production numbers & Home Depot's forecast so that they can save it in the tool and compare easily?
